En images: les vampires en nombre record à Whitby, pour rendre hommage à Dracula

Capes noires et canines pointues: le record mondial du nombre de personnes déguisées en vampires a été battu jeudi soir à Whitby, 125 ans après la parution du roman « Dracula » qui s’inspire de cette petite ville du nord-est de l’Angleterre.

« Nous venons de battre le record du monde Guinness du plus grand rassemblement de personnes déguisées en vampires, avec 1.369 vampires! », a tweeté English Heritage, organisme britannique qui gère le site de l’abbaye de Whitby, désormais en ruines, où s’est produit l’exploit. 

Le dress code officiel était strict, avec notamment  chaussures noires, pantalon ou robe noire, cape noire et crocs plantés sur les dents du dessus.  

Le précédent record de 1.039 vampires avait été établi à Doswell, en Virginie (Etats-Unis).

Dracula, de l’écrivain irlandais Bram Stoker, qui raconte l’histoire de ce comte assoiffé de sang, a été publié pour la première fois en 1897 et a depuis donné lieu à de nombreuses adaptations, au cinéma notamment.
